Upper Mustang Jeep Tour - 5 Days Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Pokhara to Kagbeni

We start the journey by driving from Pokhara towards Beni from where we will follow the Kali Gandaki river valley. We will drive past the beautiful villages of Tatopani, Marpha, Jomsom, and finally reach Kagbeni. If the time permits we will explore the ancient Kagbeni village and visit the Kagchode monastery in the afternoon.

Driving Time: 7-8 hours
Overnight: Lodge in Kagbeni

Day 2: Drive from Kagbeni to Lo-Manthang

Today we will drive to Upper Mustang after completing the permit formalities in Kagbeni. Along the way, we will make frequent stops to visit the important sites of Chele, Ghami, Tsarang, Chungsi Cave, and Ghar Gumba and reach Lo-Manthang, which is known as the former capital of Kingdom of Mustang. Late afternoon, we will explore the King's Palace, monasteries and the walled city of Lo.

Day 3: Explore Lo-Manthang & Choser - Drive to Muktinath

Today we will have early breakfast and drive north to visit the ancient sky caves of Choser and Niphu monastery. After the sightseeing, we will head back to Lo-Manthang and drive to Muktinath.

Day 4: Drive from Muktinath to Tatopani

Early in the morning, we will take a short hike around the Muktinath Temple. After the hike we will have breakfast and drive to Dhumba Lake and traditional village of Marpha where we will be served our lunch. After the lunch, we will get in the jeep and drive to Tatopani to relax our soar muscles in the natural hot-spring.

Day 5: Driving from Tatopani to Pokhara

After the breakfast at the hotel, we will start our drive back to Pokhara passing by Beni. Along the way, we will take some opportunity to visit the Golden Bridge of Baglung and Kusma. The Upper Mustang Jeep Tour ends as you arrive at Pokhara.
